Ridgefield Park Fire Fighters Visit Grant

On Friday, October 16th the Ridgefield Park Volunteer Fire Department came to visit to talk with students from Pre-K to 4th grade about fire safety and fire prevention. The fire fighters explained that their job is to help when there is a fire or accident. As part of the presentation, one of the firefighters got dressed in his gear to demonstrate for the students that even though firefighters may look scary with all of their gear on, they have to wear it to protect themselves. Students were also reminded to dial 911 if there is an emergency in their house and to “Stop, drop and roll” if they ever catch on fire. At the end of the presentation, all students were allowed to take an up close look at the fire truck and the tools that are used to save lives.
